The Edge Dental is a private dental practice on London Road in Alderley Edge, about two miles south of Wilmslow town centre and one stop away on the train. We welcome new patients from Wilmslow, adults and children alike.
Your first visit is a new patient examination for £73.50, with two bitewing X-rays included.

By train: Alderley Edge is the next stop south of Wilmslow, about three minutes on the train. From the station it is a five-minute walk along London Road, next to Waitrose.
By car: about two miles from Wilmslow town centre.

At your first appointment a dentist checks your teeth, gums and mouth, takes two bitewing X-rays, and talks you through anything that needs attention. If you need treatment, you get a written plan with the costs before anything starts.
Many of our patients join the practice membership. It is £25 a month and covers your routine check-ups and hygiene appointments, including airflow stain removal, with typical savings of around £130 a year.

An implant crown is a separate fee of £1,430, so one tooth replaced with an implant and crown is from £3,080. Full prices are on our fees page.
The practice is led by Dr Rizwan Khawaja and Dr Uzma Khawaja, with a team of visiting specialists. It is small on purpose, so you won’t wait in a crowded reception area, and you’ll have your dentist’s full attention. Dr Uzma Khawaja holds a Master’s in Dental Implantology with Distinction and places our implants.
Some treatments are carried out by registered specialists, so you can see one without travelling into Manchester.
Gum disease: Professor Julian Satterthwaite, Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Manchester, and Dr Hany Nasry, both specialist periodontists.
Root canal treatment: specialist endodontists, listed as specialists on the General Dental Council register. You don’t need a referral.
If you find the dentist difficult, tell us when you book. We take time to understand what worries you and talk you through each step. Inhalation sedation (“happy gas”) and intravenous (IV) sedation are both available.

Is The Edge Dental in Wilmslow?
No. We are in Alderley Edge, at 6b London Road, about two miles south of Wilmslow town centre. By train it is one stop from Wilmslow, then a five-minute walk.

Are you an NHS or private practice?
We are a private practice. Our fees are on the fees page, and membership spreads the cost of routine care at £25 a month.
Do you see children?
Yes. We see children for check-ups as well as adults, so the whole family can come to one practice.
Do I need a referral to see a specialist?
Not for root canal treatment. For gum disease, a referral from your own dentist brings your history and X-rays with you. If you don’t have a dentist, start with a new patient examination with one of ours and they can refer you within the practice.
What if I have dental pain?
Call us on 01625 599 001 during opening hours and we aim to see you the same day.
Opening times: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Closed at weekends.
