Tooth Loss Linked to Heart Problems
24th April 2018
Recent research has concluded that adults who lose teeth in midlife are more susceptible to heart problems. The research also states that the greater the number of teeth lost, the greater the risk of developing cardiovascular conditions.
Maintaining proper dental care and regular examinations by a dentist are key to avoiding heart problems such as:
– Stroke
– Coronary heart disease
– Peripheral arterial disease
Poor dental health leading to tooth loss can also bring on “other conditions that can damage the heart” including pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis. A full article on the topic can be read at https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/321302.php.
