Having missing teeth in your smile can cause a number of problems, such as a dip in self-esteem, a change in speech, difficulty eating, and changes in facial structure.

Dentures offer a versatile way to replace missing teeth, bringing functionality back so you can get your life back on track.

Our principal dentist, Riz, has constructed many dentures over the years, and enjoys providing a life-changing solution to patients who feel limited with their options. Riz has a specialist interest in denture-making and has a Masters in the subject.

Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are made when you still have some natural teeth in your mouth. The denture teeth are attached to an acrylic or metal plate and are taken out at night.

Several appointments are needed to construct dentures and to ensure they fit correctly and feel comfortable.

Complete Dentures
Using an acrylic plate, custom-made to fit snugly into the contours of your mouth shape, complete dentures are able to replace a full arch of teeth. Complete dentures are a life-changing treatment for patients who have lost their teeth.

Implant-retained Dentures
Implants are titanium posts placed in the jaw which can be used to support a single crown for a single missing tooth, or can be used to support a bridge or denture.

Multiple implants can be placed to support a full arch, providing a secure alternative to removable dentures. We can adjust your dentures to fit on implants, providing a natural-looking, reliable solution to missing teeth.

Dentures FAQs

What’s involved in having Dentures made?

For dentures to fix perfectly, we need accurate measurements of your mouth. We take impressions of your mouth shape (and teeth if creating partial dentures). These impressions are used to create accurate moulds of your teeth, which are then digitally scanned and sent to the lab where the dentures are crafted by skilled technicians.

At your fitting, we can make adjustments to make sure that the dentures are as comfortable and functional as possible. We’ll talk you through how to care for them, as dentures require maintenance for you to get the best out of them.

During the first few days of wearing your denture, you may notice changes in your speech, as well as an increase in saliva. It will take a bit of time for your mouth to adjust to the change. Start small with eating soft foods and practice speaking by reading aloud. If you notice any rubbing or discomfort, get in touch and we will make any further adjustments.

How to look after your Dentures

Just like your natural teeth, dentures need regular cleaning. The best time to clean your dentures is at night when you remove them. Using a soft brush, you should clean away all food debris from the dentures before soaking them overnight in a denture cleanser or water. Removing your dentures at night is essential, giving your mouth a chance to rest.

While dentures are made from durable materials, they aren’t as strong as natural enamel, so take care when biting on hard foods.
