Brushing teeth properly can be problematic while wearing dental braces. Food particles can become trapped in the braces and extra care needs to be taken to ensure the job is done properly. Basic requirements include a soft-bristled brush, waxed dental floss and an interdental cleaner.
– Rinse out your mouth
– Brush teeth gently at a 45-degree angle
– Use floss and interdental cleaner between teeth, and under and around the brace wires and brackets
Flossing is “one of the most challenging parts” of cleaning the teeth and your dentist can advise you on how to do this properly. Read more about brushing teeth while wearing braces at https://yourdentalhealthresource.com/how-should-i-brush-my-teeth-when-i-have-braces/
