A Root Canal Can Treat an Abscess

20th November 2018

blog inner thumb : The Edge dental

If you are facing an abscess in one or more teeth, there are times when a root canal may be required. What situations will dictate that this method is employed and can it actually save the tooth in question?

– A root canal may be needed if the abscess was caused by an infected nerve.
– Pulp within the tooth that has become compromised might also require a root canal.
– A crown will be placed over the tooth in order to protect it from decay.

“When a dental abscess is present, the infected pulp will need to be removed.”
